On April 24, 2021, an event dedicated to celebrating Vartan Gregorian’s exceptional life took place at the Matenadaran, the national repository of ancient manuscripts, paying tribute to his remarkable mission that spanned several decades and crossed the lines of academia, philanthropy, and culture worldwide.
The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Co-Founder and member of the Aurora Prize Selection Committee Vartan Gregorian has passed away in April 2021. He has worked tirelessly to give a second chance to those who need it the most. It is therefore symbolic that on April 24, following our annual tradition, Aurora paid tribute to the Armenian Genocide survivors and their saviors by celebrating modern-day heroes and announcing the names of the 2021 Aurora Humanitarians.
