Narine Abgaryan is a Moscow-based writer who rose to fame thanks to the “Manyunya" book franchise. Stories about Manyunya first appeared in Narine's LiveJournal blog where she gained a loyal following, and the writer’s talent was soon noticed by one of Russia's major publishers. As a result three books by Narine were published: “Manyunya," "Manyunya Writes a Fantasy Novel" and “Interloper."

A descendant of Genocide survivors Narine Abgaryan was born in the Armenian town of Berd, on the border with Azerbaijan. In the 1990s, at the height of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, her native town repeatedly came under attack and she was forced to move to Moscow. Narine admits that she feels at home both in Armenia and Russia.
