Lord Ara Darzi: “The bravery of medical professionals should be recognized”

In 2020, the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative celebrates its 5th anniversary, continuing to shine a light on the best of humanity and building a global movement of Gratitude in Action. Through its projects, the Initiative gives hope to those in need and empowers those who risk their life to save others. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Aurora remains more relevant than ever by spreading solidarity and continuing its global efforts to help the most vulnerable worldwide. Below are the thoughts of the Aurora Prize Selection Committee Chair, Director of Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London Lord Ara Darzi on medical professionals.

“The nominees who are medical professionals are individuals who believe in the basic human right of health and have dedicated their lives to providing this care for people in areas of adversity. The bravery and commitments of medical professionals to provide care for others when their own life is at risk should definitely be recognized.”
