On March 10, 2025, the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, in collaboration with UWC International, hosted an interactive webinar titled “How to Present and Pitch Your Humanitarian/Social Impact Project.” This event was open to the 2024–2025 Young Aurora participants and provided them with valuable insights on how to craft a compelling pitch for their humanitarian projects. Attendees learned best practices for structuring presentations, using data and storytelling to boost engagement, and handling Q&A sessions with confidence.
Sallie Lynch, Director of Development at the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, kicked off the session by reflecting on the 10th anniversary of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative and emphasizing the importance of the Young Aurora project in inspiring the next generation towards humanitarian action.
Andrew Nalani, an interdisciplinary community psychologist, Assistant Professor of Human and Organizational Development, and UWC USA alum, followed with a presentation on the core principles of structuring a successful project presentation and pitching it in an impactful way. Andrew’s insights not only equipped participants with crucial life skills but also helped them prepare for the upcoming 3-minute pitches that Young Aurora finalists will deliver as part of the competition to win a grant to further develop their projects.
The winner of the 2024–2025 Young Aurora will be announced on March 26, 2025. Three finalists will compete for a $10,000 grant to bring their ideas to life.
