Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian: “Aurora continues to bring together people from around the world, committed to the worthy cause of philanthropy”

On October 15, 2022, a Prayer and Spiritual Сoncert were organized in the Church of the Armenian Catholic Congregation of Mekhitarists as part of the 2022 Aurora Prize Ceremony events on San Lazzaro Island. Guests were greeted by members of the Armenian global Christian community, including His Beatitude Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, Catholicos-Patriarch of the House of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholic Church.

“Good evening, everybody. I am so glad to be here, to gather in San Lazzaro despite all the challenges and obstacles on humanity’s way toward peaceful coexistence. The world is in a dark situation these days. Therefore, it is time for a prayer for peace from all of us, which should come in all languages from all corners of the globe. Our heart goes to all the people who suffer, especially in Armenia, and all over the places where there are tribulations. We pray to end it immediately.

World peace is not just an idealistic concept but a tangible goal that we all must work hard for. We should not lose hope, and I will repeat whatever Fr. Mesrob said – Aurora helps us today realize that. It brings joy to our hearts that the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative continues to bring together people from around the world, committed to the worthy cause of philanthropy, who have answered Aurora’s calling from above, and dedicated themselves fully to helping others. [Their] efforts give those facing persecution, pain and suffering a second chance regardless of their gender, religion, or nationality. The Initiative lights its strenuous path with encouragement and hope for a better life, better future. Therefore, let us hold on to that inspiring thought as we open our hearts to the spiritual words of Our Savior, saying the “Our Father” prayer.”
