Dr. Achyuta Samanta delivered a lecture at the American University of Armenia as a part of 2017 Aurora Dialogues. He spoke about his experience and shared his views on how education can help to solve humanitarian issues.
Dr. Samanta converted his childhood hardship into his strength to rise tall, not by wealth but by ethical values of life. Envisioning a world where poverty would not stand as a hurdle to one’s education, he single-handedly founded Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS), the world’s largest free residential tribal institute, and KIIT, a world class university, with only Rs. 5000 in his pocket. He plans to educate millions of neglected and underprivileged children through KISS, which is now recognised as a model of social transformation through holistic education.
