Comfort Harris Kollie - Modern Day Hero

Comfort Harris Kollie - Modern Day Hero

Their life and actions guarantee the safe existence of others. Thanks to their devotion and courage tens, hundreds, thousands of people were spared a terrible fate. Neither wars nor natural disasters nor terrorism can stop them. In Africa, Middle East, Latin America and other ends of the world they invest not only their time, resources and security but also the most valuable – their life – to make the world a better place to live. These people live next to us. They are modern day heroes.

Ebola survivor, scrub nurse Comfort Kollie became the first female to emerge from International Medical Corps’ Ebola Treatment Unit in north-central Liberia. Comfort promised that if she recovered, she would come back to work and help care for remaining patients in the ETU. Comfort Harris Kollie recovered and went back to the front lines. She lives next to us. She is a modern day hero.
