In the field of global poverty alleviation, CMMB Chief Executive Officer Bruce Wilkinson brings deep experiential understanding and a commitment to empowering individuals and communities to achieve sustainable solutions for many of humanity’s common challenges.
His strategic and operational experience spans 40+ years (30 living in 5 African countries, 8 in New York, 7 in Washington DC, and 3 in Europe) across multiple sectors of applied linguistics, education, maternal and child health, humanitarian emergency response, economic development, agriculture, and HIV/AIDS. Educated as an economist, inspired as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ghana, trained as a linguist and anthropologist at the Summer Institute of Linguistics in Cote D’Ivoire/Mali, he has acquired deep expertise across multiple disciplines in the Development Sector capped off by an International MBA at Cambridge University and over 25 years leading global and regional operations for World Vision.
Mr. Wilkinson has a strong track record in public policy influence and resource mobilization. He was instrumental in mobilizing the U.S. commitment toward the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and subsequently lead multi-donor and partner consortiums in the fight against HIV, malaria and TB.
