Brendan McDonald is a humanitarian aid worker with over twenty years of experience in the sector. After ten years of service in the Australian Army, Brendan started working with CARE in North Macedonia and Kosovo in 1999. Since then, he has worked with the United Nations (UNOCHA) and NGOs in several emergencies, including North Korea, Sri Lanka, Libya, Jordan, and Iraq. He also held some headquarters assignments in New York and Geneva, focusing on information management and emergency response preparedness. Following a leukemia diagnosis, Brendan left UN in 2018 to co-found Uncomfortable Revolution - a social enterprise for people living with chronic illness or disability. Brendan is passionate about harnessing empathy and building communities in support of inclusivity, human rights, and social justice.
