More than 700 guests arrived in Yerevan in April, 2016 to discuss the World’s most pressing humanitarian issues. During the discussions the findings of the Aurora Humanitarian Index were presented to the leading experts from across the international humanitarian community, business, philanthropy and media. They were in Yerevan also to honor modern-day heroes and attend the award ceremony of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity. Marguerite Barankitse became the first laureate of the prize.
