Anna Yearley is the Executive Director of Reprieve and manages all aspects of Reprieve’s work.
Reprieve is an organisation of courageous and committed human rights defenders. Founded in 1999 by British human rights lawyer Clive Stafford Smith, it provides free legal and investigative support to some of the world’s most vulnerable people: those facing execution, and those victimized by states’ abusive counter-terror policies – rendition, torture, extrajudicial imprisonment and extrajudicial killing.
Before joining Reprieve, Anna Yearley spent 16 years in British politics, including working for the former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, and as director of political relations for the former Leader of the Opposition, Ed Miliband MP. Yearley also served as head of campaigns for the Parliamentary Labour Party and worked as a Political Relations and Campaign Officer for the cross-party pro-European campaign group, Britain in Europe.
