Distinguished humanitarians, academics, philanthropists, business leaders and members of civil society gathered in Berlin to address the global challenges faced by humanity. Panel discussions and keynote speeches focused on humanitarian issues and emphasized the role of individuals and organizations in making the world a better place.
Ingrid Hamm, Co-Founder and CEO, Global Perspectives Initiative: “In a globalized world we need two things most – responsibility and humanity. Because without responsibility and without humanity this can become quite destructive, and this is not what we are aiming for. And humanity, at least for the European foundations, had been a matter of charity and giving at Christmas times. It was not a serious issue. Now it is time to take it as serious as it is.”
