Organizing Partners

2018 Aurora Dialogues Berlin “Humanity in a Fragile World: Partnering for Change” will take place in the capital of Germany on December 11 – 12, 2018. The event is organized by the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, the Global Perspectives Initiative, the Federal Foreign Office (Germany), the Roland Berger Foundation, the Robert Bosch Stiftung, EY and UNICEF.

AURORA HUMANITARIAN INITIATIVE

Founded on behalf of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide and in gratitude to their saviors, the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative seeks to empower modern-day saviors to offer life and hope to those in urgent need of basic humanitarian aid anywhere in the world and thus continue the cycle of giving internationally. The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative is Gratitude in Action. It is an eight-year commitment (2015 to 2023, in remembrance of the eight years of the Armenian Genocide 1915-1923) to support people and promote global projects that tackle the needs of the most helpless and destitute and do so at great risk. This is achieved through the Initiative’s various programs: The Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity, the Aurora Dialogues, the Aurora Humanitarian Index, the Gratitude Projects and the 100 LIVES Initiative. The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative is the vision of philanthropists Vartan Gregorian, Noubar Afeyan and Ruben Vardanyan who have been joined by more than 440 new supporters and partners. The Initiative welcomes all who embrace a commitment to our shared humanity.

GPI

The Global Perspectives Initiative (GPI) supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to make the world a fairer and safer place by 2030.

GPI believes that a higher sense of responsibility leads to more opportunities, and more opportunities lead to a better future for everyone. That is why GPI is promoting and supporting the discourse on a sustainable and balanced global development and strongly encourages Germany to increase its international responsibility in global development cooperation. GPI brings together stakeholders from politics, business, media, and civil society, discusses various approaches to sustainable global development, and motivates people to act.

The Global Perspectives Initiative sees itself as a national platform in a global discourse for a fairer world in the future. As a non-profit and neutral platform, the initiative gives rise to new ideas, raises awareness about the opportunities and challenges around the concept of a global society and thereby shapes the public discourse in Germany.

FEDERAL FOREIGN OFFICE

The Foreign Office is supporting the program ‘Strengthening the cooperation with civil society in the countries of the Eastern Partnership and Russia’. The program enables civil society organizations and their citizens to play their role as key players and key partners in government action, and to support ongoing transformation processes in the region.
