The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, in collaboration with the Institute for the Study of International Migration at Georgetown University, invites you to the special Aurora Dialogues discussion titled “Innovative Approaches to Supporting Displaced Populations,” which will take place on December 5 in Washington, D.C.
While there’s a lot of talk in the humanitarian community about the importance of localization, there aren’t many opportunities to hear from local humanitarians working on the front line.
Join us as we hear from Burundian activist, Marguerite Barankitse, a 2016 Aurora Prize Laureate who has dedicated her life to saving children threatened by conflict and Shadi Martini, a Syrian businessman who set up an underground network to provide health care to Syrians affected by the conflict and now CEO, Multifaith Alliance. We’ll also hear from Nazanin Ash, CEO at Welcome.US, who will talk about efforts to mobilize Americans to support refugees in their communities.
