Aurora Statement on the War in Ukraine

Aurora Statement on the War in Ukraine

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has transformed the world and created the greatest humanitarian crisis in Europe since the Second World War. More than a million people are on the move and millions more are in peril.

The Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity is dedicated to the promotion of humanitarian activity around the globe. The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative and Prize calls on the international community to mobilize all its resources of ingenuity and compassion to negotiate an immediate ceasefire and promote a peaceful settlement. We urge world leaders to join together in an international humanitarian effort to save the lives of all those at risk and prevent further suffering.

The Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity is a global award that recognizes those who risk their lives, health, or freedom to save the lives, health, or freedom of others. Part of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, the Prize was established in 2015 on behalf of the survivors of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and in gratitude to their saviors.
