The global launch of 100 LIVES

March 9, 2015 – The global launch of 100 LIVES, an initiative rooted in the events of the Armenian Genocide, will take place in New York City on March 10th 2015.

A series of major announcements will be unveiled by co-founders Vartan Gregorian, Noubar Afeyan and Ruben Vardanyan, who will be joined for a high profile discussion with leading humanitarians, policy makers and members of the Armenian Diaspora.  The event will:

  • Signal the launch of a global appeal to uncover stories of strength and survival from the Armenian Genocide;
  • Introduce a new international humanitarian prize, co-chaired by Nobel Peace Prize Winner Elie Wiesel and Academy Award Winner George Clooney, recognizing those who have overcome great adversity and have gone on to enable others to survive and thrive;
  • Announce the partnership between 100 LIVES and Not On Our Watch. Moderator and managing editor of "Washington Week" and co-anchor and editor of the "PBS NewsHour" Gwen Ifill will chair a conversation with Ruben Vardanyan and George Clooney, who will discuss the prize, its mission and their common goal to combat genocide and advance human rights the world over.

The event will be streamed lived.
